The Plant Nursery Department offers Horticulture Training and employment opportunities for teens and adults with disabilities. All aspects of propagation and raising butterfly-attracting and landscaping plants are taught, including maintenance and the sale of products and services.  Program participants receive hands-on work experience through designing and installing butterfly gardens for  schools, retail nurseries, residential developments and organizations. Private homeowners also can acquire advice and/or services regarding the design and installation of garden. Students are paid an hourly rate or commensurate wage for any community work projects and through this experience, they acquire and develop skills, which will assist them in obtaining eventual employment within community businesses.
